Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed how his Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway is going through “living hell” as her husband remains in intensive care with coronavirus.

Kate, 53, has been updating fans on a weekly basis on Derek’s condition, as he remains in hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 two months ago.

Speaking on Monday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers, 55, sent his well wishes to Kate, saying he “hopes and prays” Derek will survive after seven weeks in intensive care.

Piers said while alongside Susanna Reid: "We haven't talked about it much because Kate Garraway is going through a living hell like many people. "Her husband has been in a very serious condition for many many weeks. "We can all just hope and pray he comes through.
