Children in Scotland are being urged to test more regularly in a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus across the country. National Clinical Director Professor Jason Leitch said kids should be taking at least two or three lateral flow tests (LFTs) per week.
Fears are growing over the rise in cases of the new Omicron variant in Scotland. It comes after 23 new cases were identified in the last 24-hour period.
There are now 71 Scots with the new strain, which was first identified in southern Africa at the end of last month.The latest Scottish Government data revealed that 3,894 people had returned a positive test over the last 24 hours, while no deaths were recorded in that same time period.
