A male nurse has been jailed after he had sex with a "very vulnerable" patient at a hospital.Christopher Fasakin, 58, admitted two counts of causing or inciting sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder while working as a care worker and was sentenced for these offences on Thursday.Snaresbrook Crown Court heard Fasakin had sex with the patient on the nights of May 24 and May 25, 2020.

The court heard that Fasakin, from Hornchurch in London, worked as a night shift nurse at the hospital.Gary Rutter, prosecuting, said Fasakin had previously been warned about being too close to female patients on the ward.

The court heard that on this occasion he had exchanged telephone numbers with the patient, and the pair had sent each other messages.Mr Rutter said that on the night of May 24, Fasakin struck up a conversation with the patient. "They had a cigarette together and ended up, for some reason, back in her bedroom," he said.Fasakin then had sex with the patient without wearing a condom.

He returned to her bedroom the next night - using a condom this time after purchasing one on the way to work.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
