Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has made an incredible gesture to his hometown during the coronavirus pandemic. The Egyptian has been in COVID-19 lockdown as the Premier League is suspended for the foreseeable future.
It has seen stars of the top-flight make gestures to the vulnerable, such as Sadio Mane making a £41,000 donation in March. And Salah’s dad, Salah Ghaly, wold Egyptian outlet Al-Masry Al-Youm that the forward had made an incredible gesture worth £405,000.
The Egyptian has donated thousands of tons of food and fresh meat to his hometown of Nagrig on the northern coast of the country.
With residents hit by poverty, the supplies include face masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus, with the village also being sanitised.
