Lottery millionaires under lockdown have been keeping their spirits up – in their own DIY pubs. Three lucky couples have been surviving the coronavirus outbreak by boozing in their backyards.
Former heart nurse Jill, 63, and electrician Steve Walsh, 59, from Hull, even host family quiz nights. The couple, who won £1million on the Lotto millionaire raffle in 2016, said their Dive Inn pub and gin shack has been a “life-saver”.
Jill said: “It gets us away from the house and you forget you are at home. All you have to do is use your imagination and pretend you’re somewhere else.
It didn’t cost a lot – we just used pallets.” Ruth and Peter Doyle built indoor and outdoor bars at their home in Lyneham, Wiltshire, after scooping £1m in 2015.
