Louis Vuitton’s Virgil Abloh apologises after backlash over $50 donation and looting comments during George Floyd protests

Luxury fashion designer Virgil Abloh has responded to backlash he received for complaining about looting during the anti-racism protests, as well as claims that he donated $50 (£39.30) towards Black Lives Matter causes despite his wealth.  Louis Vuitton’s artistic director shared a string of tweets over the weekend criticising looters for targeting streetwear stores in Los Angeles while out protesting the horrific death of George Floyd, who died last week after a Minnesota police officer kneeled on his neck for eight minutes.

However, Virgil was slammed for prioritising the wrong thing by lamenting the protestors rather than supporting the cause of the demonstrations.
