No new coronavirus deaths have been announced at Salford Royal Hospital for the first time in two weeks. It is the first time that no additional deaths have been announced at the hospital since April 28.

It means the number of deaths reported as Salford Royal Hospital remains at 159 - although this does not necessarily mean that no Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours.

There can be a delay of up to several days before a death is announced as hospitals have to process the information before notifying NHS England.

With seven deaths in the last seven days at Salford Royal, it would appear the number of Covid-19 related deaths at the hospital have peaked.
