Pedestrian in hospital after being 'struck by bus' near Scots shopping centre

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being "struck by a bus" near a shopping centre in Glasgow.Emergency services raced to Auchinlea Road, near Glasgow Fort, after the alarm was raised at around 2pm on Tuesday.

Officers were alerted to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Cops would not confirm whether or not the vehicle involved was a bus, however an eye-witness told Glasgow Live that a 'woman was hit by a First Bus'.

Images from the scene showed ambulance crews attend to the pedestrian next to a double-decker vehicle. Their condition is currently unknown.

The road reopened at around 3.30pm and police say their enquiries are ongoing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2pm on Tuesday, 24 September, 2024 we were called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Auchinlea Road in Glasgow. "Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital.
