CRANFORD, N.J. -  Police in New Jersey are hoping to identify a "person of interest" who was caught on video leaving a dead cat in a resident’s mailbox. The incident was reported on March 12 just after 10 p.m. at a home in Cranford and was reported the next morning, according to authorities. The Cranford Police Department shared video footage from a home security camera on social media, which shows the person – who appears to be male – walking with something in their hand up the driveway.The person is then seen walking away from the home, and down the sidewalk. In footage shared by the Cranford Police Department, the individual is seen walking down the sidewalk and up the resident’s driveway before leaving a dead cat in the mailbox.

PHILADELPHIA - A young man is expected to recover after police say he was shot inside a Philadelphia KFC restaurant on Wednesday night. Investigators say the 20-year-old man was shot once in the arm while in the dining area of the popular fried chicken chain on the 300 block of North Broad Street. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department brought the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was placed in stable condition. Police have not said if there were any other customers in the dining area when the shooting happened. No arrests have been reported.

Dio Garcia of Philadelphia was arrested in Bensalem.  BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Bensalem Township Police Department is touting the success of what they call proactive police work after an armed robbery suspect wanted in Philadelphia was arrested during a traffic stop in the Bucks County town. Authorities say on Tuesday, just before 10 a.m., patrol officers saw a 2013 Ford Edge commit a violation while going south on Route 1. According to police, the officers initiated a traffic stop and made contact with 40-year-old Dio Garcia from Philadelphia. A check of the crime system revealed the car Garcia was driving was listed as a felony vehicle with an occupant wanted for a point-of-gun robbery, officials say. Police say Garcia was also wanted out of Florida on a warrant for a probation violation. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESGarcia was taken into police custody and the Ford Edge was towed by police, authorities say. After a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, a search led to the finding of a container of suspected marijuana and a loaded .40 caliber Beretta handgun, officials say. The gun, which was reported stolen out of Delaware, matched the description of the weapon used in the armed robbery in Philadelphia, per police. Police say Garcia faces several charges in Bensalem and Philadelphia Police are obtaining an arrest warrant for the gunpoint robbery.

PHILADELPHIA - The New Jersey coast was hammered by a powerful nor'easter that battered beaches dealing with erosion issues that have undergone multi-million dollar replenishment projects. Ocean City recently wrapped up a $24.5M project that added over a million cubic yards of sand to the beach from 14th street to Seaview Avenue. Locals believe this week's storm that brought everything from tropical storm force winds to rain and snow to areas along mid-Atlantic coast wreaked havoc on the recently finished project. "All of that sand hasn't really set yet, so it just gets wiped away when we get bigger storms," said local surfer Cooper Lysinger, who enjoyed the large swells produced by the late-winter noreaster.

She was rescued from a shed behind a home.Family members of the 13-year-old girl are thanking law enforcement for finding the teen and thanking community members for their support. FOX 4 is choosing not to identify the family or the teen because she’s a reported victim of sexual assault.Police say 34-year-old Jorge Camacho took a 13-year-old girl near her home in Dallas and committed multiple sex crimes against her before she was found locked in a shed more than 1,000 miles away on a property in North Carolina.The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office says Camacho had been chatting with the teen through a social media platform. SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - The president of the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners resigned after a year of trying to get a local police organization to not use the so-called ‘Blue Lives Matter’ flag as its logo.Eddie Graham says he wanted to give a voice to African-American residents and work on issues to bring equity and unity to the community when he was elected as commissioner eight years ago. Instead, Graham - the first and only Black Commissioner and the first Black President of the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners - said he was met with hate and humiliation. He claims he was ostracized and humiliated from his first board appointment when he was appointed to chair a non-existent committee. "Mind was given to the Committee of Human Resources, which there were no members and I was the sole member, and the laugh was I could have my meetings wherever I wanted," Graham said. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESGraham also said he endured a fellow board member sending him a derogatory caricature that depicted Black people as lazy and dumb. "I said ‘Are you serious right now!?’ and he actually, instead of apologizing, he got belligerent," Graham said. Last year, when Graham saw the Springfield Township Police Benevolent Association changed its logo to the ‘Blue Lives Matter’ emblem, he expressed concern because he claims it is a symbol of white supremacy. James Lee, the new President of the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners, wouldn't comment on the matter and referred FOX 29 to his comments from the Jan.

(Meg Puckett, CWHF herd manager)A beloved wild stallion that was a familiar favorite among visitors to the Outer Banks of North Carolina has tragically passed. Finn, an 11-year-old stallion, was seen fighting with other stallions last Friday, according to a post published to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund (CWHF) Facebook page. Then, later that same Friday evening into Saturday morning, Finn was seen "unable/unwilling to move." Veterinarians observed that Finn’s leg was broken beyond repair and it was advised that he be euthanized to end his suffering, the Facebook post read. According to the veterinarians, there was no reason to suspect that Finn’s injuries were caused by anything human-related, such as being hit by a vehicle. "While it is a devastating loss for those of us who cared for Finn and who will miss him dearly, what happened to him is nature in its most basic, wild, and unforgiving form.

PHILADELPHIA - One of America's largest and most popular retailers is officially shutting down one of its Philadelphia locations.The Washington Square Target at 1128 Chestnut Street will close for good on May 13 "after multiple years of working to improve performance," according to a Target spokesperson.Currently, 45 part-time and full-time employees work at the Center City location, which opened in 2016. MORE HEADLINES:Official say those employees will be offered the chance to work at a nearby Target. After the Washington Square store closes, nine other Targets will remain open in Philadelphia.The Target closure comes months after Wawa closed two Center City locations due to the rise of crime and violence across the city. 

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. - Several credit card skimmers discovered at local gas stations has prompted a police department to take further action to protect their citizens.Police say the skimmers were found on several gas station pumps at two separate locations in Penndel, a borough in Bucks County:No devices were found at a third location in town, according to authorities.MORE HEADLINES:Police say the source of the skimmers is not known at this time. However, an investigation has been launched, and additional checks are being added."We have been frequently checking the pumps for skimmers and working with the business owners to prevent them in the first place.

NFL’s competition committee will consider making roughing-the-passer penalties and personal-foul penalties subject to video review.The two potential rule changes were among nine the league announced Monday in its 2023 playing rules, bylaw and resolution proposals submitted by clubs.The Los Angeles Rams proposed the change that would allow teams to challenge roughing-the-passer calls. PHILADELPHIA - Two men were caught yielding an ax and a gun in an attempt to rob a convenience store in Philadelphia's Eastwick section last week.Police say the suspects demanded money from an employee at the Maranatha Grocery Store on West Passyunk Avenue.Video captured one suspect holding the employee at gunpoint as the other carried a wooden box with an ax inside.MORE HEADLINES: With a few swings of the ax, the suspects attempted to break into an ATM.They fled the scene without any stolen items or money, according to police.Police are attempting to identify the suspects, and ask anyone with information to contact them.
