Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed his heartbreak after his Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway revealed her husband Derek is still fighting for his life in hospital.

Kate bravely revealed her struggles on Thursday as her husband of 15 years remains in intensive care two months after testing positive for Covid-19.

Presenter Piers, 55, took to Twitter after Kate revealed Derek is still fighting for his life to reveal how upsetting it is to see her going through such a difficult time.

Piers said: "This breaks my heart. Few happier, more positive people than @kategarraway. Or a more loyal, decent friend & colleague. "So many families like hers going through so much unimaginable anguish in this crisis.
