Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan extends Good Morning Britain contract for another year

Piers Morgan has declared he will be on morning TV screens for at least another year after signing a new contract with Good Morning Britain.

The divisive 55-year-old has built up quite the reputation for his animated presenting – and hard line questioning – on the ITV morning news magazine show.

Sitting alongside Susanna Reid, 49, Piers has divided the opinion of some viewers with his dominant presenting skill – with some finding his grilling of politicians in recent months a revelation, while others have found it a turn-off.

But morning viewers can expect to see the unapologetic TV host at the GMB desk all the way to end 2021 at the very least. Piers told The Sun: "I’ve just signed a new contract up for GMB until the end of next year.
