Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan promises 'lively' Good Morning Britain as he sets return date

Piers Morgan fans have been at a bit of a lose end this week after he took some time away from Good Morning Britain. The controversial presenter and his co-host Susanna Reid announced they were taking the week off - which would usually be the half-term break - because it has been a "long old haul" reporting on coronavirus news.

While some people have been glad of the quiet break, others can't wait for Piers to make a return. And he has now promised that it will be 'lively' from Monday when he, Susanna and Dr Hilary Jones all make their way back to the ITV show.
