Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan has praised his Good Morning Britain co-hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard following today's emotional interview.

The 55-year-old presenter took to Twitter to praise the pair - who have worked together for years - as they discussed Derek Draper's ongoing health battle on the ITV show today.

Piers wrote: "Wow. Such a moving, emotional, inspiring interview on ⁦@GMB with my fabulous friend @kategarraway about her family’s #coronavirus turmoil.

So proud of you Kate, as Derek would be too. "We’re all behind you, hoping & praying for a miracle." He later tweeted: "Long-time co-presenting colleagues & the closest of friends.
