Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed he's tested negative for coronavirus, but won't be returning to Good Morning Britain until he gets the go-ahead from his doctor.

The 55 year old missed Monday's show after he announced on Twitter the night before that he had developed a "mild symptom" and would be tested for the deadly bug.

Now, he's offered his 7.4 million followers an update as he told them: "My COVID-19 test was negative. "I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a Govt-designated essential worker." He added: "I'll be back on @GMB as soon as my doctor advises I'm OK to return to work." The TV personality was immediately inundated with messages of relief and cheer
