Premier League matches could be played in August as UEFA draw up new plan

Premier League matches could go on into August under a new plan from Uefa to get the domestic season finished. Uefa bosses held a video conference call with the European Club Association to discuss possible fixture calendars for when the season resumes following the coronavirus crisis.

All professional football has been suspended until further notice due to the pandemic - and will not start again until it is deemed safe to do so.

It is understood a proposal has been put forward to see all European domestic leagues and their respective cup competitions completed by July 31 - depending on the pandemic.
