Kensington Palace confirmed last week she would not be carrying out her duties as the Inspecting Officer at the Colonel’s Review on Saturday.

Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE, would take over the job for Catherine that day instead. Now, she broke her silence about missing it. Taking to X (Twitter) on Saturday, the Irish Guards shared a letter from the Princess of Wales in which she apologized for her absence at the major rehearsal.

It’s still unknown if Catherine plans to be at Trooping the Colour on June 15 in some sort of capacity, even just appearing on the balcony with the royal family.
