Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s has announced that it is banning couples shopping together in its latest measure to control the spread of coronavirus. This new move means that if more than one adult arrives at one of its stores, staff will ask that group to choose who then goes inside the shop, with others having to wait outside.
If you’re a parent who has children who can’t be left at home then you will still be allowed to enter the building. Sainsbury’s Chief Executive Mike Coupe has said: “From today, we are asking everyone to please only send one adult per household to our shops. “This helps us keep people a safe distance apart and also helps to reduce queues to get into stores.
