Schools 'will reopen in three weeks' under new three-stage lockdown exit plan

Children could be sent back to school in three weeks, under new plans to ease the coronavirus lockdown. Under the proposals pupils from certain age groups will have lessons during selective days of the week or every other week to ensure they practise social distancing.

Primary schools will resume lessons first and students from Years 10 and 12 who are due to sit their GCSEs and A-levels next year will also return to the classroom, The Sunday Times reports.

The finalised plans will be presented to Prime Minister Boris Johnson once he feels well enough to return to his role following his own battle with Covid-19.
