Wetherspoon’s pubs could reopen in the next couple of months as the chain plans ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic. The popular pub chain’s restaurants and bars have been closed since March 20, when Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered them to shut.
Wetherspoon’s supremo Tim Martin has been a vocal critic of the ongoing lockdown measures, describing them as “over the top”.But now, directors at the firm are hoping that its bars will be able to serve drinks once again from ‘late June’.
Wetherspoon’s said in a statement that it would have to follow the advice from the government before ordering the reopening its branches.
