The coronavirus crisis could have halved Bruno Fernandes' market value. That's according to Sporting Lisbon president Federico Varandas, who claims the midfielder would now cost much less than the £67million Manchester United splashed out on him in January.
Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Fernandes his number one target ahead of the winter window. But the Norwegian waited until Deadline Day to get the transfer over the line, parting with £47m up front, with a further £20m to be paid in installments.
Discussing the deal, and how it could have been very different had it taken place amid the pandemic, Varandas told RTP: "The crisis caused by Covid-19 harms the European football industry in general. "But, of all countries,
