Strictly Come Dancing's Kai Widdrington has reached out to his followers with a heartfelt update after his father, former footballer and current Aldershot Town manager Tommy Widdrington, experienced a health scare.The dancer's dad has been undergoing scans and tests since as part of treatment for two ischaemic strokes at Southend General hospital.
But in a new update, Kai revealed Tommy is now on the mend at home.Tommy, who enjoyed an impressive career in the English Football League with 372 appearances over 15 years and later played non-League football, received an outpouring of support from the football community, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Aldershot Town released a statement on Friday (December 6) on behalf of the family, which said: "Being of good health prior to Wednesday, and historically in general, his response to this episode and the initial treatment has been very encouraging.
He has made very good progress and is feeling and looking a lot better already." It continued, "He returned home late Tuesday afternoon to begin further rehabilitation.
