Two teenage girls who told police they were sexually attacked and robbed while on a lockdown walk in Russia have been ordered to pay fines for breaking isolation rules.
One of the pair, 17 and 18, was raped and the other was violently sexually attacked in Krasnoyarsk, police sources say. The attacker also stole their jewellery and mobile phones before running off, they said.
Police later detained a suspect aged 55 who was found in possession of the stolen items, said a law enforcement statement. A criminal investigation has been opened against him over sexual crimes, using and threatening violence, and robbery.
Despite the horrific ordeal faced by the young women, both were issued with police protocols which can lead to fines of up to 3,000
