As the show began detailing the evening's lineup, Clara turned to the audience and expressed: "We also wanted to send huge, huge love to our dear friend Lauren Laverne, who earlier today shared the news that she's been diagnosed with cancer." She continued with a message of hope, stating: "Thankfully, she is expected to make a full recovery which she herself says, just goes to show the importance of getting checked." Clara urged viewers, saying: "So if you are thinking about it, please don't put it off," acknowledging Lauren's gratitude for the overwhelming support she's received.

Co-host Alex Scott chimed in with additional support: "And everyone here at The One Show is sending their love to you, so get well soon, Lauren and we can't wait to have you back," reports Wales Online.

Clara wrapped up the segment with a firm "Absolutely," before the show proceeded with its scheduled content. Earlier today, Lauren had taken to Instagram from her hospital bed to share her diagnosis with followers.
