A waste food catering service has delivered more than 10,000 meals to vulnerable people over the past week. Open Kitchen MCR has been working closely with Manchester City Council’s Food Response team to ensure the city’s most-vulnerable are well fed.
They are currently delivering around 1,700 meals a day and show no signs of slowing down. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News., Corin Bell, director of the service said: "Last week we were able to deliver 10,200 meals a week - our target for this week is 11,000. “We work with referrals from the Council in supporting the vulnerable, whether it's the elderly, people with dementia, and the street homeless currently living in hotels.” Currently based at the Onward Homes offices in Didsbury,
