Thieves raid McDonald's during lockdown by smashing drive-thru hatch

Burglars have been caught on CCTV breaking into a McDonald's after the fast-food giant shut its branches because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the footage, recorded on April 3, two men smash the drive-thru window hatch at a restaurant in Cardiff and cause hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

One of them then crawls through the broken hatch and scours the deserted restaurant for valuables. But the thief starts to panic when the alarms sound and quickly grabs a box before dashing to the exit back through the hole.
