A three-year-old boy has tragically passed away after suffering an "unexpected" medical episode at Chris Evans' family-friendly festival CarFest.
An air ambulance was reportedly called to CarFest in on Saturday just after 11pm to rush the boy to hospital, where he sadly lost his life.
A Hampshire police spokesperson told The Daily Star: "Shortly after 11pm on Saturday, August 24, officers were made aware of a medical episode involving a three-year-old boy at CarFest, Overton.The child was taken to hospital, but sadly passed away a short time later." CarFest is a family event set up by radio DJ Chris Evans in 2011 to raise money for charities such as Children in Need.
A spokesperson for the weekend festival said: "There was a medical incident on the festival site on Saturday, August 24.The incident was attended to by the onsite medical and security teams supported by the NHS.The patient was taken offsite to hospital." The festival saw artists such as Olly Murs, Sam Ryder, Beverly Knight, UB40, Scouting For Girls and Richard Ashcroft all take to the stage.
