A woman broke into a blind pensioner's home and robbed him before shoving him to the floor – as he was self-isolating. Rebecca Rogers, 29, knocked on the door of her 92-year-old victim's home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire on the morning of April 10, Leeds Crown Court heard.
The man, who is registered blind, told her she couldn't come in because he was self-isolating due to the coronavirus pandemic. "The defendant said "Well I'm coming in" and pushed him out of the way into the conservatory," said Paul Nicholson, prosecuting.
Once inside, Rogers ransacked the house and stole the man's wallet and £100 from a shoebox. She even grabbed £10 he had left under an ashtray for his carer so she could buy herself flowers as a thank-you for helping
