Two more people die from coronavirus in Greater Manchester

Two more deaths from coronavirus in Greater Manchester have been confirmed at Salford Royal Hospital. The NHS said on Friday afternoon a further 39 people have now died in England after they were diagnosed with the virus.

They are said to have been aged between 50 and 99 and all had underlying health issues. Those deaths have come over a 24-hour period.

The two deaths at Salford Royal bring the number of dead from the virus in Greater Manchester to eight. In England, 167 people have now died of the Covid-19 virus.
