Government insiders have warned that the UK's coronavirus lockdown could last for up to a year in some form. Yesterday, Business Secretary Dominic Raab announced the extension of the lockdown for another three weeks.
But that could prove to be a very conservative estimate for when the UK can begin to get back to normal, with many claiming the government are treating the British public like children.
Raab's briefing on Thursday mentioned a "light at the end of the tunnel" of the crisis as deaths start to level out. But there is said to be growing concerns inside the government about the potential knock-on effects of postponed NHS treatments such as cancer.
