Brenda Blethyn, the Oscar-nominated star of Vera, has opened up about a scary incident on set that saw her rushed to hospital.The 78 year old actress, who plays DCI Vera Stanhope in the hit series, suffered a medical emergency while filming an episode.
After 13 years of portraying the no-nonsense detective, Brenda hung up her character's iconic trench coat and fishing hat after wrapping up the 14th and final series of the popular ITV drama this summer.
Filming took place across the North East, with locations including Gateshead, Blyth, South Shields and Glanton. Brenda previously admitted to fans that she felt "tired and Emotional" when filming ended.
However, during one episode, she experienced a health scare. The star, who has Bell's palsy, had an episode while filming a scene for the crime drama.
