Thousands of disabled children and young people across Scotland will receive a one-off payment for £251.50 later this year to help with higher heating bills during the 2024/25 winter season.
The Scottish Government has now confirmed all the new payment rates for devolved benefits and payments, including the Child Winter Heating Payment.
The devolved payment will be worth £151.50 next winter, an increase of £15.80 on the £235.70 payments received by an estimated 29,000 families since November 2023 to help them with higher costs during the colder months.
Payments are expected to be made around the same time this year. The £251.50 lump sum is automatically paid to families of children and young people up to the age of 19 who already get certain levels of qualifying disability benefits.
