Liverpool have reportedly ended their interest in Timo Werner after deciding they are not willing to pay his release clause.
The RB Leipzig forward has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer to team up with compatriot Jurgen Klopp. Werner has been in scintillating form this season, with his hat-trick in Leipzig’s 5-0 win against Mainz on Sunday taking his goal tally to 24 in the Bundesliga.
And with the 24-year-old having only a £50million release clause, the Reds were said to be confident of snapping him up. But reports suggest that the European champions are now not willing to pay that amount for the Germany international.
