Lauren Laverne is preparing to make a comeback to her BBC roles following her 'unexpected' cancer diagnosis. The 46 year old presenter had taken a break from her duties on BBC Radio 6 Music, Desert Island Discs on Radio 4, and co-hosted The One Show after revealing she was battling a form of cancer.
Back in August, she shared a statement along with a hospital snap, reassuring fans that her cancer was detected early. "I'm in hospital at the moment and wanted to take this moment to say thank you: Firstly to medical teams who have got me this far with incredible skill and kindness," Lauren started, thanking her BBC colleagues for "their support and for giving me the time off that I need to get better".
She also gave a shout out to her family and friends who "have been absolutely extraordinary every step of the way". She encouraged those who were "avoiding a test or putting off an appointment" to get checked, and announced that she would be taking a break from her radio shows and The One Show while she recuperated, reports the Mirror. "It's usually my job to bring the good vibes on air but any you have to spare are very much welcome here.
Sending loads of love to anyone in a similar boat, or who has made it back to shore," she shared at the time. Now, after a three-month break, Lauren is set to return to our screens and airwaves.
