Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Boris Johnson's condition is 'improving' and he is 'sitting up in bed' as he remains in intensive care due to coronavirus. The Prime Minister has been receiving treatment at St Thomas' Hospital in London since Sunday evening.
He was taken to hospital after displaying persistent symptoms - 10 days after testing positive for Covid-19. The update on Mr Johnson's condition was given by Chancellor the Exchequer Rishi Sunak during the daily coronavirus press conference.
Mr Sunak said Mr Johnson, who is not only his boss but also his friend, is receiving “excellent care”. He said: “The latest from the hospital is the Prime Minister remains in intensive care where his condition is improving. “I can also tell you that he has been sitting up in bed
