A teenager has been taken to hospital after falling from an e-bike during a police chase in Moston. A cordon was put in place on Shackliffe Road following the incident that occurred at around 4:30pm today (Friday, February 7).

According to Greater Manchester Police, an officer from the Roads Policing team on a motorcycle was in pursuit of an e-bike being ridden by the 13-year-old boy.

The youth was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failure to stop and he has been taken to hospital. Shackliffe Road was closed off by police from Moston Lane this evening, blocked off by emergency services with traffic police on the scene.

Pictures from the scene show traffic police in the area and an e-bike left lying on the pavement. A spokesperson for GMP said: “At approximately 4:36pm today (07/02/2025), an officer from our Roads Policing team driving a police motorcycle briefly pursued an e-bike. "The rider, aged 13, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failure to stop.
