Heartstopper has become one of Netflix’s biggest smash hits, with the third series of the coming of age comedy drama arriving on the streaming service later this year.
Alongside the regular cast, the new series will feature a cameo appearance from Jonathan Bailey, otherwise known as oldest brother Anthony Bridgerton in the hugely successful period drama. The 35 year old actor will be joined by two more new cast members – Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One star Hayley Atwell and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe’s Eddie Marsan.
Heartstopper, based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel, is the story of Charlie Spring - played by Joe Locke - a gay schoolboy who falls in love with his classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).
Season two ended with the couple having a heart to heart about their feelings, but Nick stopped short before saying he loved Charlie, and the last scene featured Charlie writing ‘I love you’ in a text – but the episode ended before viewers could see if he hit the ‘send’ button.
