A child is in hospital after being hit by a car outside a Scots waterpark.Emergency services raced to the incident outside the Time Capsule on Buchanan Street in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, at 2.45pm on Saturday, September 7.

Crews attended and the child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.

Police say inquiries into the collision are ongoing.A Police Scotland spokesperson told our sister title, Glasgow Live: "Around 2.45pm on Saturday, 7 September, 2024, police received a report of a crash involving a car and a child pedestrian on Buchanan Street, Coatbridge.
