Coronavirus death toll in UK increases by 717 - more than 11,000 people have now lost their lives

The number of people who have died from coronavirus in the UK has increased by 717 people to more than 11,000, the Department of Health has said.

NHS England has announced 667 new deaths of people who tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 10,261.

There have been 30 further deaths in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales bringing the total death toll to 697 and the Department of Health announced the daily death toll was 717 as 11,329 people have died in the UK's hospitals as of 5pm on Sunday.
