Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA  (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

UK lockdown fines for childcare-related travel WON'T be reviewed

It is a question that Health Secretary Matt Hancock promised to give full answer in writing about at the UK's daily press briefing yesterday when quizzed by a vicar from Brighton.

The Reverend Martin Poole asked Mr Hancock: "Will the government review all penalty fines imposed on families travelling for childcare purposes during lockdown?” The question followed the revelations of the Prime Minister's most senior aide Dominic Cummings' controversial 260-mile trip to Durham from London in March when he and his wife were ill during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

He has refused to apologise over the trip or to resign despite mounting unease and criticism from Conservative backbench MPs as Prime Minister Boris Johnson defended him.
