A 12-year-old girl is in hospital after plunging from a waterfall in Glen Nevis.The child had been scaling Steall Gorge near Fort William in the Highlands when the horror incident unfolded on Friday night.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Teams were scrambled to the scene and stretchered the schoolgirl to safety using a rope system to carry her back to the walking path.
She was rushed to Belford Hospital in Fort William with a suspected broken leg and wrist. She was later transferred to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh.
Her current condition is unknown.A statement from Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team reads: "On Friday evening we were called out to an incident involving a 12-year-old child who had taken a significant tumbling fall on steep ground in Steall Gorge, Glen Nevis.
