Staff member at mental health facility where man died admits she missed seven 15-minute checks he needed

A nurse assistant working at a mental health facility when a long-term patient died having been found bleeding heavily in his room admitted to an inquest jury she missed seven 15-minute checks he required.

Lee Doherty, 46, from Manchester, was detained under the Mental Health Act for 10 years. He died at Prospect Place, Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale - run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - on July 15, 2022.

Mr Doherty was found bleeding heavily in his room before he died. A inquest into Mr Doherty's death is ongoing at Rochdale Coroners' Court, overseen by senior coroner Joanne Kearsley. READ MORE: Thousands back M.E.N.
