Katie Price has revealed that her mum Amy, 72, was rushed to the hospital this week, spending six hours in A&E after an ultrasound left her with a burst cyst.The former glamour model, 45, took to her podcast, The Katie Price Show, to update fans, and reassure them that her mum, who was diagnosed with terminal lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, is OK now.
She said: "Mum ended up at the hospital because she had a burst cyst from an ultrasound.” Her sister Sophie, who is a co-host on the podcast, chimed in: “I had to take mum to A&E.The hospital were really good actually, we went to Medway hospital.Took mum up A&E because she had a burst cyst I think it was but she is all fine.” She explained: “She had an ultra-sound the other week and they burst it basically by accident.
So we spent about six hours at A&E.” Following Amy's diagnosis in 2017, she was given a life expectancy of three to five years.
In 2022, she underwent a lung transplant and has said she is “up and down”. Last year, Amy opened up about how she 'died on the operating table' during the lung transplant, while talking about the ordeal on her daughter's podcast.
