Labour is probing comments by a councillor who claimed Boris Johnson was taken to intensive care as a "publicity stunt". It is understood the party is "investigating the matter" after Julie Heselwood apologised for "crass and offensive" remarks she posted on Facebook.
Leeds Live reports the now-deleted post by Ms Heselwood, who sits on Leeds City Council, claimed Mr Johnson wanted "sympathy and to change the narrative. "Don’t fall for it".
Labour has not revealed the extent or nature of the investigation. There is currently no suggestion she has been suspended or expelled from the party.
