A five-year-old girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being mauled by a dog in Trafford. Emergency services raced to the scene of the incident on Walnut Road, Partington, at around 3.40pm on Sunday (April 14).

Police received a report that the dog was attacking the child inside a house on the street. She has suffered serious, life-changing injuries, it has been confirmed.

The dog, which the M.E.N understands to have been an XL bully breed, was later seized by officers. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and child neglect.
