The Piano Man is taking a break from performing! Billy Joel announced on Tuesday (March 11) that he is postponing several upcoming tour dates to recover from a recent surgery.

Shows in Detroit, Toronto, Syracuse, Salt Lake City and more have all been rescheduled for either later this year or in 2026. Keep reading to find out more… “Billy Joel’s upcoming concert dates will be rescheduled due to a medical condition.

The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors.

Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025,” a message shared to his Instagram read. “While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first.

At 41, the comedian has battled cancer before, having previously disclosed an operation to remove a growth in her leg during her student years. On Friday 21 March, the Canadian talent shared that she had recently undergone surgery to excise a cancerous mole on her arm found to be melanoma.
