A man was rushed to hospital after a horror sledging incident in Bury on Sunday (January 5). Paramedics and fire crews were called to the incident on Stockton Drive, in Tottington, due to the incident behind the residential street on the nearby Kirklees Brook.
Witnesses said a number of emergency services vehicles lined the road after the incident, understood to have happened as families were out sledging on the snow.
Heavy snow fell across Greater Manchester on Sunday morning as the region was covered by two severe weather warnings, which saw much of the region wake up to their streets blanketed in the white stuff.
The man, whose age has not been confirmed, was rescued using specialist equipment after 'falling down the large slope' at around 1.30pm.
