A Ryanair flight due to arrive at Edinburgh Airport has been diverted back to London after a failed landing due to gale force winds caused by Storm Eowyn.
Flight RK596 left London Stansted at 8.46am on Friday, January 24, after a 45 minute delay and made it's way to the Scottish capital, but flight tracker data shows it got into difficulty when coming into land, and is still in the air on a two hour and 44 minute journey.
FlightRadar24 first said that the flight was diverted to Cologne in Germany but a live tracker appears to show that it's now made its way back to London. The flight map shows that it first circled back around the Borders then made its way to the Firth of Forth where it circled again.
It then tried to land at Edinburgh but then carried on back down south.Later, the flight map then showed it had come back into Stansted.
