A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car 'at a pedestrian crossing' in Leigh. Police say the pedestrian, aged in his 40s, remains in a serious condition this morning (December 31) - more than a week after the incident took place.
Officers were called out to Westleigh Lane at around 10.30am on Monday, December 23, following a collision involving a black Ford Fiesta.
Greater Manchester Police believes the man had been crossing Westleigh Lane using the pedestrian crossing near to the Go Local Extra Post Office when he was struck by the car.
The driver, a man in his 50s, was arrested and later released under investigation. GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now appealing for information as it continues to investigate what happened.
