A pensioner has been rushed to hospital after a horror crash in Edinburgh this afternoon.At around 3.35pm on Tuesday, January 28, emergency services rushed to Marischal Place in Niddrie following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

An 82-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.

Pictures obtained by Edinburgh Live show a police cordon on the residential road - which was re-opened at 7.20pm - with three police cars and four officers in attendanceA Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.35pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, officers were called to a report of crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Marischal Place in Niddrie, Edinburgh."Emergency services attended and an 82-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
