Max George posted an update on his health on Instagram on Thursday 19 December, and also shared a second post in which he wished his mum a happy birthday.The Wanted star shared an image of his arm, with a cannula attached and held in position by a dressing, a week after he revealed he had been rushed to hospital by his mum and was awaiting tests to determine an issue with his heart.

Max, 36, had originally been told he would need to spend Christmas in hospital, but in an update on Monday 16 December he said that surgery needed to take place sooner than expected thanks to his “really, really low” heart rate, and he could be home for Christmas.

Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, Max shared some photos from an ambulance and updated his lengthy caption with an update.

As part of the post he wrote: "Unfortunately my heart rate hasn’t picked up at all in almost a week. Because of this, we don’t have too much time to wait so it looks like I’m going to be in surgery way quicker than the doctors first thought.
